The Cadillac XLR sports car, born from the 1999 Cadillac Evoq concept car, first debuted at the 2003 North American International Auto Show. Available in dealerships as a 2004 model, the rear-wheel drive car featured either a naturally aspirated or supercharged V8 engine that was teamed to an automatic transmission. The roadster was discontinued following the 2009 model year.
Features included a retractable power hardtop, aluminum alloy wheels, high-intensity-discharge (HID) headlights, aluminum alloy wheels, anti-lock brakes, satellite radio, leather-trimmed seats, navigation, head-up display, and a touchscreen infotainment system.
