The Cadillac Brougham debuted in 1987, representing a new direction for a model previously marketed as the Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham. The full-sized four-door sedan was powered by a range of V8 engine options, which teamed to a four-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. Following the 1992 model year, the Cadillac Brougham was supplanted in the lineup by an all-new version of the iconic Cadillac Fleetwood.

During its short production run, the Cadillac Brougham continued to offer an optional d"Elegance trim package that was available during the Fleetwood Brougham era. The model was also noted fro a restyled front grille introduced in 1989, as well as an optional Premier Formal vinyl roof that became standard with a 1990 facelift.
