The Buick Skylark was a mainstay in the automaker's lineup, with six generations offered over 46 years. First offered as a luxury convertible, the Buick Skylark has also been available in coupe, station, wagon, two-door hardtop sedan, four-door hardtop, and even hatchback bodies. The model was retired following the 1998 model year, representing the last compact Buick car produced until the arrival of the 2012 Buick Verano.
Across the years, the car has been powered by four- and six-cylinder engines that were matched to either manual or automatic transmissions. The final 1998 model was equipped with anti-lock brakes, dual airbags, intermittent wipers, air conditioning, and an AM/FM stereo. Available options included power mirrors, 15-inch aluminum wheels, leather seats, and a CD player.
