The Buick Regal Sportback was introduced in 2018, replacing the Buick Regal in the automaker's lineup with a completely new body style. The five-door liftback featured either turbocharged inline-four or V6 engines. Models equipped with front-wheel drive paired the engine to a nine-speed automatic transmission, while all-wheel drive versions came with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Standard features offered during the three-year production run included anti-lock brakes, a seven-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth streaming, smartphone connectivity, and the OnStar telematics system.
